With summer officially arriving last week GBC Motorsports made the most of another busy weekend full of racing. Dylan Dixon took on national-level competition in the 5th round of the Yamaha Quad-X Series, then joined several more GBC riders for the 3rd round of the new Dirt Series.
Yamaha Quad-X Racing Series – Round 5
Dylan Dixon started his busy weekend by heading out to Surprise, AZ for Round 5 of the 2012 Yamaha Quad-X Racing Series. The special Saturday night event at Speedworld MX attracted a good turnout as Dixon battled some of the best riders around in the 450 Pro-Am class. Dylan’s 3rd place and 5th place moto finishes earned him a 5th place for the day, putting him in 2nd place in the series standings.
Dirt Series – Round 3
Dixon headed to Pala Raceway for Sunday’s Dirt Series event. With the series picking up in popularity, Dixon joined several other GBC riders for Round 3 action. Once again Dylan Dixon piloted his GBC Bomb Squad MX tires to victory in the 450 Pro class, keeping his perfect season alive after 3 rounds.
Joey Berg bested the 450 Pro-Am class for the second consecutive round, and sits in 2nd in the standings despite missing the opening round. Javier Palacios finished 2nd in the 450 Open class but holds on to the class lead by a narrow 3-point margin.
Justin Christensen took 1st in his series debut in the 450 Intermediate class. Justin Luna finished 4th in a busy 250 Open class.
In the Side X Side world, Kayla Smith kept her streak alive with another UTV Prod 700 class win with her GBC Dirt Commanders, while fellow GBC driver Steve Beilman took 3rd in the UTV Prod 850 class.
